Things I have learned living in Alabama

I wish I could take credit for this being something I wrote but I didn't. I am not sure who did but they seem to understand where I come from.
Christine

Things I have learned living in Alabama :
A Possum is a flat animal that sleeps in the middle of the road.

"Onced" and "Twiced" are words.
It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy.
"Jaw-P " means "Did ya'll go to the bathroom?"
People actually grow AND eat okra.
"Fixinto" is one word.
There is no such thing as "lunch".
There is only dinner and then there is supper.
Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two. We do like a little tea with our sugar!
Backards and forwards means "I know everything about you."
The word "Jeet" is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"
You don't PUSH buttons, you MASH them.
You don't TURN off lights, you CUT them off.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM Alabama IF:
You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday.
You measure distance in minutes.
You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
You use "fix" as a verb. For example: "I'm fixing to go git somethin ta eat."
All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, insect or animal.

You know what a "DAWG" is.
You carry jumper cables in your car. For your OWN car.
You only own five spices: salt, pepper, Texas Pete, Tabasco and Ketchup.
You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit "a bit warm".
You know all four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, still Summer and Christmas.
Going to Wal-mart is a favorite past time known as "goin' Wal-martin" or off to "Wally World."
You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good soup weather.

Our World - Atlanta Thieves Nab 2 Bicycles From Jimmy Carter

Really? Did they need the Carter's bikes?

Atlanta thieves nab 2 bicycles from Jimmy Carter

Mon Jan 12, 5:13 pm ET
ATLANTA – Not even a former president is immune from thieves.
Two bicycles belonging to President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, were snatched from inside the Carter Center near downtown Atlanta earlier this month.
The couple likes to ride bicycles in nearby Freedom Park when they have free time. Peter Wicker, the owner of a local bike shop, donated the bicycles to the Carters in 2007 after seeing the poor condition of their old bikes, which had been brought in for repairs.
Atlanta police say they have made no arrests.
A spokeswoman for the Carters told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the couple is currently in China.
